
| Improving our fixed asset management across the entire public sector means better public services for Scotland. Last year the Accounts Commission reported on asset management in local government and, in a separate report, Audit Scotland assessed NHS asset management. |
The Accounts Commission report, comprising 12,400 properties with a combined value of £21bn, found that more than half of councils did not have an approved corporate asset management strategy. It also highlighted that whilst most were good at collecting data about their properties; this data was not then subsequently used to help make informed decisions. Read more... |
